Job Title: CERTIFIED ANESTHESIA TECHNICIAN
Position Description: Working under the supervision of and in collaboration with, the Perioperative Services management team and the Anesthesia Department, the Certified Anesthesia Technician is an individual with demonstrated clinical and technical expertise and knowledge of anesthesia equipment, supplies, anesthesia delivery and support systems. Their role is to assist licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation and application of equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia during the pre, intra and postoperative periods. This individual provides support to clinical staff of the operating room, anesthesia department, post anesthesia care unit, GI Lab, and procedural areas requiring anesthesia services. The anesthesia technician ensures the order, functionality, availability and cleanliness of anesthesia supplies and equipment, coordinates repairs and communicates to management critical maintenance information. Participation in select patient care activities such as room turnover, specialized equipment set up, patient preparation is required. Participation in meeting the department's budgetary objectives, supporting the philosophy, objectives and goals of hospital administration and its representatives is required.
Position Requirements:
Certification from American Society or Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians
Current BCLS Healthcare Provider certification
Prefer one year experience
American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technician Certification Anesthesia Technician Certification (ASATT)
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Technician who is qualified by education, training or experience in management may perform administrative, logistical and fiscal tasks relevant to anesthesia services as assigned.
