Description: Performs carpenter duties necessary to maintain building woodwork and equipment such as counters, benches partitions, doors, floors, stairs, walls, framing, drywall and modular furniture. Work involves most of the following: planning and layout of the work from blueprints, drawings and models, or verbal instructions using a variety of hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments; making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work; and selecting materials necessary for the work. Paint walls, ceilings and trim of buildings. Move and help support during installation, parts of raised flooring systems, suspended ceiling systems, modular furniture systems and hard wall installation. Must be able to lift and carry items that weigh up to 50-75 pounds. Performs grounds maintenance, general yard upkeep, and snow removal. Assist other trades performing facilities maintenance when required. Some travel may be required. Qualifications: Normally requires a high school diploma and in general requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through formal apprenticeship or equivalent. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Candidate should display initiative and be a self-starter. Must be a strong team player and have highly effective interpersonal skills.
