Manages and monitors recording and reporting of fixed assets and intangibles, and tracks construction capital spending through the Project Costing Asset Management System in the PeopleSoft module (PCAM). Manages and monitors recording and reporting of all inventory and converters, which includes proper valuation of inventory by maintaining integrity of inventory system, physical counts and audits, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures in all warehouse locations, and recording and reconciling in accordance with GAAP.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Establish policies and procedures and monitor internal control for all inventory and fixed assets. Participates in Sarbanes-Oxley testing and documentation.
·Reports to and interacts directly with Senior Management regarding such issues as inventory levels, count discrepancies, and internal control findings. Direct interaction with Corporate staff regarding interpretation of policies and updates to procedures as new technology is introduced.
·Manages, interviews, selects, trains, promotes, schedules, motivates, evaluates, and disciplines staff.
·Oversees all responsibilities of the Inventory Accountants, Converter Accountants, and Capital Accountants, including, but not limited to:
*Project authorizations,automated PA workflow, capital/contractor invoices, work orders, retirements, transfers, sales and project closures, and proper recording into the PCAM System in the PeopleSoft module.
*Capital Project/Fixed Asset subsidiary ledgers to general ledger and account balance discrepancies.
*Provides monthly variance explanations on capital expenditures for corporate reporting.
*Physical inventories for all warehouses, including converters, as well as fixed asset verification as per audit specifications.
*Reconciliations of all valued inventory, including converters, to general ledger, proper valuation, reporting and disposition of obsolete and slow-moving inventory, converter transactions in the Capital Projects/Fixed Asset systems and all modules of PeopleSoft,
*Annual New York State Board of Equalization filings and various Corporate tax reporting schedules.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
·This position directly manages multiple accountants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
·Good analytical and oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
·Working knowledge of personal computers, data retrieval and input in PeopleSoft System.
·Advanced spreadsheet skills, specifically in Excel.
·Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
·Ability to exercise good judgment.
EDUCATION:
·Bachelor's degree in Accounting from four-year college or university is required.
EXPERIENCE:
·Five to seven years related experience required, including no less than 4 years of management/supervisory experience. Prior experience must include inventory and capital background.
