AREVA’s businesses help meet the 21st century’s greatest challenges: making energy available to all, protecting the planet, and acting responsibly towards future generations. Summary of Duties Exercise knowledge of technical skills and understanding of business objectives, manufacturing operations and dynamics of the company’s environment to take an effective and proactive leadership role in a specific technical manufacturing discipline. ·         Set direction for, lead, and take ownership of complex manufacturing engineering technical tasks than may have multiple inter-coordinating elements. Expectation that the individual will be able both to anticipate and identify key issues and make recommendations for resolution where precedent may not exist and creative thinking is required. Resolution may involve the application of new methods and approaches and may require the consideration of impact with other system components. ·         Develop and maintain processes for the manufacturing of Canberra products. These processes may include, but are not limited to, wave soldering, component insertion, and wire crimping.  ·         Maintain the flow of products from the manufacturing department.  All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.  Candidates must have experience: 

·       Assesses complex manufacturing processes to determine and implement opportunities for improvement.

·         Analysis and documentation to justify strategic manufacturing capital expenditures.

·         Resolves complex manufacturing- related problems affecting daily operations.

·         Lead in the application of Lean Manufacturing in all aspects of manufacturing process and provide project leadership for major flow changes within the plant.

·         Demonstrate an advanced understanding of process control techniques and uses quality tools to monitor first pass yields.

·         Demonstrates an advanced knowledge of the cost reduction process and can lead team and present detailed financial justifications for major reductions.

·         Demonstrates an advanced understanding of ISO procedures and uses them to better mange work processes

·         Reduce manufacturing costs by identifying changes to components and processes to reduce raw material costs and or process time

·         Follow Corporate and departmental SOP’s especially related to design and change

·         Demonstrates the ability to define, design and implement tooling, fixtures, and test equipment required to efficiently move product through the manufacturing processes

·         Understands the concepts of ergonomics

 

 

The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.

 

·         Administration of the Electrical Calibration Program.

·         Maintenance of the Manufacturing Standards Manual.

·         Kanban implementation and Lean Shop Flow

·         Project Management

·         Work with Design Engineering on New Product Introduction

 

Education/Training:

 

·         B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree. 

·         Minimum of five years related experience as a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer

·         Specialization in electronics is an asset

·         Familiarity with nuclear technology, radiation monitoring regulations, and military specifications is an asset
