Research Engineer/Scientist II/Senior (C2 Domain Data Modeler Lead) Computer Science and Information Technology Division Information Technology and Telecommunications Lab Georgia Tech Research Institute Full-time, permanent position available starting immediately. Looking for a data modeler with 5+ years experience in the military Command and Control (C2) domain and associated representational standards, methodologies, and tools to specify, develop, and facilitate the implementation of information exchange standards and architectures. Must have demonstrated experience in: •data modeling concepts, methodologies, and tools, •military C2 domain knowledge •XML, GML, KML, and other W3C markup language standards and the current tools of the trade, •familiar with semantic web, UML, and web service technology, including Java, .Net, OWL, RDF and other tools and standards for a SOA environment. The primary work assignment would be to provide on-site support to DOD customer with reach back to GTRI for data modeling and software development for projects serving the military C2 community. Ideal candidate would have an MS in Computer Science or Software Engineering and have 5-10 years of specialized military C2 experience in project or product management and leadership experience, including development of technical reports and presentations. Experience with UCORE, NIEM, GJXDM, or (U) LEXS, enterprise application integration (EAI) technologies, databases, portals and collaboration technologies as well as experience in a Joint Military C2 environment a significant plus. The project is based in Norfolk/Suffolk, VA with some travel to the GTRI facility in Atlanta Georgia. Candidate must be a US citizen eligible for a security clearance. A security clearance may be required but is not required at time of application. Selection process will include passing a pre-employment background screening.
