TLT-Babcock, Inc. is a worldwide supplier of custom-engineered axial fans, centrifugal fans, and mechanical ash handling systems that service the utility, industrial and construction industries.  Today, as our clients work to meet the energy needs of the nation and the world, our business continues to grow.  We are currently seeking a Buyer to join our Procurement – Purchasing group.  This position will work out of our corporate headquarters located in Akron, Ohio. 

Seasoned purchasing pro with commodity knowledge and purchasing experience in rust belt technologies including fabrications, weldments, machining, forging and mechanical assembly.

Sound understanding and basic knowledge of large fabrications and machining a must.

Aggressive and confident self starter, with a BS in either management or a technical field, some supervisory experience a plus.

Hands on experience with computerized purchasing and planning systems related to the generation of requisitions and processes necessary for successful purchase order launch.  Proficiency in Excel/ Word.

Experience in purchase order follow up, expediting and problem solving, understanding of commercial terms and conditions – ability to interface with suppliers, management and engineering when necessary to resolve technical issues.

Commitment to meeting contractual delivery dates and meeting TLT customer expectations.

Open minded and cognizant of the belief that “there are always options” and possesses the ability to initiate “what if” scenarios with suppliers to meet delivery schedules.

Assignments will vary according to the need – adaptability, flexibility, creativity and a willingness to “go with the flow” will be necessary.
