Currently, we have an opening for a Buyer in our Parsippany facility. The qualifications for this position include:
· Bachelor’s degree in business discipline, or equivalent
· 3 -5 years procurement experience with electronics/computer peripherals
· Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate with suppliers
· Ability to manage projects and influence without authority
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in English
· Strong financial and analytical skills (statistics, cost accounting, computer spreadsheets)
· Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
· Strong teamwork orientation
· Excellent communication in Chinese and familiarization with contract manufacturing in Asia preferred
Responsibilities for this position include:
· Establish assurance of supply plans
· Implement supply chain model
· Provide suppliers with commodity forecasts
· Drive material cost reductions
· Track/manage supplier delivery and quality performance, and manage any supplier corrective action
· Lead Quarterly Business Reviews and development plans for tier two/three suppliers
· Assist with contract management
· Place purchase orders timely and accurately
· Achieve and regularly report Procurement dashboard metrics
· Execute MRP/planning buy signals
· Define and implement disaster recovery plans
· Manage disposition of excess/obsolete inventory and consigned material
· Manage returned material to vendor process
· Assist A/P in resolving receipt/invoice discrepancies
· Communicate and assist with the management of end of life process for commodity
· Communicate and manage engineering change orders
· Maintain approved vendor list
· Assisting with such marketing support as: forecasting and communicating commodity pricing and availability, developing customer/supplier linkages, and providing technology, product and introductory timing roadmaps
· Manage new product introduction by:
Setting up parts and MRP data in MAN-FACT
Creating parts documentation for procurement
Identifying supplier, providing specs and expediting the procurement of samples for qualification
· Assist in other areas, as assigned
