Description:
This manufacturing company in Kent, Washington is seeking a Buyer. The candidate will be responsible for purchases materials, goods and services as prompted by the MRP system or directed by Purchasing Management. Negotiates prices and delivery schedules so as to insure lowest price and minimum inventory consistent with purchasing economics. Responsible for the on-time delivery of purchased items. Cuts and issues purchase orders. May be required to follow-up and receive purchased items as directed by the Purchasing Supervisor/Manager. Ensures that proper paperwork, including certifications of conformance and trace ability, are received with procurements as required. Resolves quantity, quality, documentation and other discrepancies associated with procurements with vendors and suppliers. Approves invoices for payment and reconciles invoice discrepancies as needed. Obtains material return authorizations from suppliers for defective or excess materials. Arranges for the return of materials to suppliers as needed. Assists Estimating Department with material quotations as required. Assists other Purchasing Department personnel as required. Meets established standards for productivity and quality. Confers with supervisor when problems arise, which impact expected level of performance. Responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance to ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems. Must contribute to a positive work environment. Performs any task required to support customer requirements and company goals. Volt is an EOE.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to use and interpret aircraft drawings, specifications, and blueprints. Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence and communicate effectively with customers or employees of organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to sit or stand for at least 8 hours a day. Ability to utilize a keyboard for long periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline; or five years or more year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification through N.A.P.M. or A.P.I.C.S preferred.
