Job Description:

We are seeking a highly-organized, budget minded individual to assume the role of Buyer / Purchasing Agent within an established parts manufacturing company.  The core function of this position is to work with the company’s supply chain team on various projects while ensuring the best possible materials are being procured from the least number of vendors at the lowest price possible.

Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to, the following

Respond to MRP messages Maintain delivery requirements as identified by the schedulers Ensure materials are purchased within budget Verify purchased materials arrive in a timely manner Raise RFQ’s and PO’s Create and enter Purchase Orders Keep records of purchase history Visit suppliers on an as needed basis Identify new vendors who can better supply the company with necessary materials at a more desirable price Discover ways to reduce the number of vendors needed Solicit cost and lead time reduction ideas from suppliers Review variations and return defective materials to suppliers Generate debt memos as required Maintain vendor rating system 

Requirements:

3 to 5 years experience in purchasing materials for a manufacturing company Working knowledge or ability to learn the Vantage System Experience in a job shop environment Experience as a Buyer for a Maintenance and/or overhaul shop Strong written and oral communication skills CPM certification would be a plus Experience working with the following is also preferred Automotive or mechanical components Bearings Wires Transmissions Gears 

Education:

Bachelors Degree in either of the following fields:

Business Administration Engineering 

Rate of Pay:

$60,000 to $70,000 Annually, DOE

1st Shift

This is a full-time, permanent position

Commutable within the region of New Castle, DE
