Job Summary:
The Buyer Merchandiser for Perishables Deli is responsible for the following: Perishable turn buying, pricing, codes dating, item and vendor maintenance, warehouse communication, while marinating service levels to meet company standards.
Essential Functions:
Helps contribute to gross profit by maintaining proper inventory levels, billing ads, recovering loss margins, monitoring price changes on a daily basis. Responsible for Communicating and building a strong relationship with the customer to ensure a clear, understanding about the product, bookings, inventory levels, dead and excess and to plan a course of action if needed. Meet or exceed budgeted inventory levels to ensure proper warehouse operations, while maintaining a good service evel for the customer, moving product to other warehouses maximize sales for C&S and help the customer deplete the excess inventory. Responsible for updating all price fields where applicable, also making sure that all the appropriate people are aware of the price changes for items while making sure that the all changes only effect the gross in a positive way. Meet or exceed contractually obligated service levels to customer. Daily service levels must be prepared, reviewed and sent to the appropriate contacts daily. Any potential service levels issue must be communicated with the customer in advance to resolve. Work with the vendor community to build partnerships and maximize profitability for both vendors and C&S. We will also help resolve and discrepancies in pricing and item set-up’s to ensure that the customers are satisfied. Keep in contact with the warehouse to ensure priority trucks are received for billings, late trucks are expedited in a timely manner, all refusals/rejections are properly communicated to vendor and customers, and code dating opportunities/ miss -rotations are reviewed on a daily basis. As a commodity member obtaining vendor contracts, deal sheets and prepares R-bills for participants in the food show. Also selling product at the booth, making sure that the customer are getting the product that they need for there store. Responsible for getting together participants, obtaining sheets for the guide, designing the book, review all codes and sending them to all of the independent stores. Work various weekends and holidays to ensure strong customer service. Help manage the pricing; code maintenance and slotting must be managed every day. Working with the Vendors to submit codes accurately and in a timely manor to ensure maximum sales for the customers. Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Three to Five year’s relevant procurement experience required. Sound statistical acumen, interpretation and analytical ability. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
