In this Buyer/Expeditor position, you will be responsible for the purchase of quality materials, components, supplies, and equipment at the most competitive price with delivery made on schedule.  You will seek out vendors to obtain quotations and to negotiate prices for a variety of materials, parts, equipment and supplies. In addition, you will follow up on delivery schedules to determine when expediting is necessary. 

 

Qualifications include the following:

 

Bachelor degree in Business Administration or similar field of study or equivalent experience in purchasing, or completion of a buyer’s development course at an accredited institution.

 

Familiarity with shop procedures and/or inventory control is desirable.

 

1 – 3 years experience in purchasing raw materials (steel) would be an asset.

 

Must have working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Windows. Keyboard/data entry skills are a must.

 

Must be detail oriented and self motivated.

 

Good communication and interpersonal skills are required. 

 

Must be able to communicate (verbal and written) in English.
