POSITION PROFILE:
Produce buyer located at home office, Bentonville, AR.
-Responsibilities include managing a portfolio of produce categories including item selection, shelf allocation (modulars), pricing and promotions.
-Select and develop suppliers, negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance.
-Write budgets and maintain P&L responsibilities for assigned categories.
-Some domestic travel required, limited international travel possible.

REQUIREMENTS OR QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
1. Minimum 1 year previous buying experience.
2. P&L responsibility and track record of financial achievement in current or previous position.
3. Detailed understanding of cost/retail financials and inventory accounting.
4. Demonstrated management abilities in current or previous position.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
1. Computer skills, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook
2. 4 year College Degree, expereince in buying or produce/agricultural field wil be considered in lieu of.
3. Retail store experience in a perishable or grocery setting.
