Salary:            Competitive and commensurate with experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position will be responsible for acting in a financial capacity to both internal and external constituents for the Robert H. Smith School of Business to include but not limited to Deans, Department Directors, Smith School students, research centers, vendors, and the University community.  Duties include administering budgets and forecasts for up to 8 departments within the Business School.  Performs monthly reconciliations of accounts to our internal accounting systems; prepares and analyzes monthly financial reports, and develops financial management procedures.  Organize workflow to achieve departmental goals with an efficient use of resources.  Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with department personnel and external departments to ensure a high quality, efficient, and responsive level of customer oriented service.  Review expense reimbursements for completeness, accuracy, and proper General Ledger coding.  Assist in reviewing purchasing and travel card transaction logs from department cardholders; other duties as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree required.  Two to five years of experience in a combination of budgeting, accounting, and reconciliation.  University setting is a plus.  Must possess an understanding and application of GAAP; working knowledge of fund accounting and accrual accounting.  Demonstrated proficiency with standard office and business software applications; excellent organizational time management and interpersonal skills.  Ability to handle multiple, sometimes competing priorities, and provide excellent outcomes within required time frames.  Proven analytical skills and customer service/proactive solution orientations a must.  Normal work hours; however weekend and evenings are common; therefore, flexibility is required. 

 

SALARY:      Mid $40's to low $50's
