Axis, Inc., located in Peoria, Illinois is a leading provider of Engineering Design and Technical Services, with nearly two decade's experience in delivering cutting-edge customer services to global clients. We are currently seeking a Business Development/Sales Manger to join our growing team.
This position is responsible for selling primarily engineering services and aggressively pursuing and generating new business through outside sales activities such as cold calls, prospecting, telemarketing, and relationship building.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement an effective sales plan to meet or exceed sales objectives for medium to large size accounts.
- Perform appropriate prospecting and screening activities to identify qualified prospects for new business development.
- Establish and maintain good public relations and networking within the community to develop new business.
- Develop comprehensive sales presentation materials tailored to the account.
- Make formal sales presentations and follow-up calls to prospective new business accounts.
- Review technical specifications to develop and prepare proposals for engineering services
- Establish pricing for quotes and statements of work that are consistent with the company’s financial objectives.
- Maintain documentation of sales activities in order to forecast annual budget.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing or Engineering or related field preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five years of technical/design/engineering/manufacturing environment sales and business development experience. Candidates with experience selling technical services highly preferred.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Successful track record of selling services to medium to large size accounts
- Strong sales presentation and persuasion skills
- Effective leadership and staff management skills
- Ability to effectively work autonomously with minimal management direction
- Proven ability to create and implement sales strategies
- Effective relationship management skills
- Experience in new production development, and cold call capability.
- Willing to travel approximately 25% of the time.
