As critical part of the Colorado team, this marketing leadership position will work closely and collaboratively with design professionals to help our Colorado design practice achieve its strategic mission and goals. As a Business Development Professional you will be responsible for executing external marketing strategies for DLR Group in the Rocky Mountain region.
Leadership skills are a must in this role, and strong, effective verbal and written communication skills are paramount. The successful candidate will use their business development skills to identify, qualify and establish professional relationships with prospective clients to create long-term positive value for DLR Group. Marketing, Business or Communications with 5 years of successful business development experience in a service-related business or marketing role. Experience with architecture, engineering, construction or economic development fields would be a plus.
Specific traits should include, but are not limited to:
• Leadership: This position will report to the BD leader and will support building and managing a marketing team via a professional skill set that rewards creativity, hard work, cooperation and proactive planning.
• Relationship Building: Build and manage proactive relationships with targeted clients resulting in a climate of trust, resource reliance, and increased designed commissions
• Collaboration & Partnership: Build and maintain deep partnerships with Office Leaders and Marketing staff to ensure integrated execution of all marketing and business development activities.
• Ensure Success: Coordinate overall marketing framework to align all strategically driven company goals. Monitor all marketing and business development successes, lead tracking and reporting metrics.

Marketing Professional [Requisition 08118]
An opportunity exists in both the Colorado Springs and Denver office of DLR Group. This position merges marketing and brand communications roles and is responsible for generating marketing related materials for specific business sectors and projects we pursue, while developing and directing public and media relations programs to raise brand awareness of DLR Group in Colorado and neighboring regions.
Marketing responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the preparation of:
Statements of Qualification (SOQs), proposals, electronic presentations, multimedia video presentations, specific marketing collateral pieces, project descriptions, staff resumes and CRM data updates and other associated marketing related activities.
Brand communications responsibilities include development and execution of annual communications plans including coordinating advertising, award programs, professional association relations, and key trade show programs while executing local public relations and community relations outreach to raise awareness of DLR Group’s design expertise, and architecture, engineering, planning, and interiors services for Colorado clients.
This person will work with guidance and support of the office’s Marketing Leader, Sector Leader, Office Principals and national Brand Communications Leader for marketing and public relations tasks.
Strong, effective written communication skills are paramount to this role. In addition, this role must also interact professionally with a diverse group of marketing, architectural and engineering staff members; have the ability to work productively in teams; have demonstrated success with deadline oriented tasks; good organizational skills; have ability to handle multiple tasks; working knowledge of marketing and graphic design; experience with a variety of computer software and desktop publishing programs; be dependable; and be attentive to detail. Additional desired qualities include: being creative, self-motivated, and flexible enough to work independently and in a team setting.
This role requires initiative to help generate new processes and practices. A creative mindset and problem solving approach is critical.
Specific Tasks include, but are not limited to:
· Coordinates, write, layout and implement marketing materials and promotions including SOQ responses, RFPs, interviews, awards, collateral pieces, etc.,
· Maintains project descriptions and data, staff resumes and other information in a VISION/CRM database
· Coordinates conference attendance, presentations, booths and exhibits,
· Provides support on project work and public involvement issues,
· Helps with development and maintenance of marketing budgets and schedules,
· Provides marketing research in specified sectors,
· Prepares status reports on marketing efforts,
· Coordinates the production, maintain and access of marketing and project photos and images,
· Provides leadership and guidance for PR related activities for the office,
· Works with marketing coordinators to formulate a PR tactics for each specific local sector pursued,
· Serves as the main contact for working with the National Brand Communications team on national PR,
· Develops relationships with key media contacts for all markets,
· Assists with chamber/association sponsorships & events,
· Maintains media database via VOCUS ISP platform,
· Maintains/updates media kit and all collateral pieces,
Coordinates with other Marketing Staff to ensure the following are done: E-mail newsletter, new employee press releases, new project press releases, project updates, annual advertising schedule, advertisements, award submissions, submission and development of DLR Group Awards, assigned special event planning, brand awareness and adherence.
Preferred Software Experience:
· Demonstrative experience in InDesign, Photoshop, and/or other desktop publishing software.
· Proficient with Acrobat, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
· Experience in CRM database and public relations management software, preferably VISION and VOCUS.
