Who we are:
We are a provider of contract bioanalytical research services to the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The FDA-inspected, GLP bioanalytical laboratory specializes in liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) services in support of early drug discovery; toxicokinetic studies in animals; pharmacokinetic, bioequivalence drug-drug interaction and therapeutic drug monitoring clinical trials in humans.
What you will be doing:
As a Manager of Business Development you are responsible for new client acquisitions and further development of existing client relationships in the Pharma/Biotech Industry in North America.
Your role is to build and expand company's presence within named market sectors and pre-defined accounts (global and national Pharma); sell business and establish long-term partnerships while effectively managing available resources.
You also represent services to defined accounts while carrying a defined 'quota" for expected consistent quarterly revenue achievement with a specific area. You will use your strong ability to get to executive levels, develop and foster relationships with the key decision-makers at biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies and that have the potential to become long term and meaningful relationships for our company.
Your primary accountabilities include:
• Sign new business authorization at or above corporate assigned target
• Establish and execute a comprehensive sales plan for each target account
• Plan and coordinate all target client sales activities and communicate account activity to Sr. Director, Business Development and/or appropriate individuals
• Report and document any client dissatisfaction and complaints; prepare weekly and monthly activity report; respond to all requests by client to Sr. Director, and Operations team
• Participate in activities to support leads development - including conferences, professional networking opportunities, special events, and other promotions.
To be successful in this position, you have strong business knowledge of the Bioanalytical Services and GMP Pharmaceutical Analysis Services, with an understanding of the Drug development life cycle and a CRO sales experience to Pharma/Biotech Industry in North America.
What you need for this position:
• Bachelor degree in science or business (MS or PHD in Life Sciences and/or MBA is preferred)
• 2+ years previous experience selling CRO services to all levels of an organization (CEOs, VPs, CSOs)
• Proven track record of consistent success in sales performance and customer satisfaction
• Product and market knowledge and experience required as is the ability to identify new opportunities via prospecting skills; ability to manage a long and complex sales cycle
• Team-oriented selling skills and a general understanding and working knowledge of analytical technology and services
You are an ideal candidate if you reside in the Northeastern part of North America and you prefer a home-based office. This position requires travelling > 50%.
