The primary focus of this position is to create sustained revenue streams and growth within the US education market. First, the role will build revenue in the K-12 education marketplace for the Education Clip Library (ECL) service, an ITN and Espresso joint initiative, by forging commercial and content relationships with publishers, OEMs, government agencies and other targeted organisations.  Secondly, the role will also involve developing business outside the K-12 education market by selling ITN Source’s content to universities, museums, galleries and other non-K-12 target customer groups.

 

The person will be a proven and energetic self-starter who can be given autonomy to create and build business in the education sector through the sustained growth of ECL and ITN Source.  Knowledge of still or video/film archive is desirable but not a pre-requisite.

 

The key tasks and responsibilities are to:

 

Identify, develop and grow profitable business relationships within the educational sector through the licensing of ITN Source and ECL content to customers that fits with their current and future product development plansNegotiate and manage multi-year usage and royalty agreements that can also include advance payments Identify opportunities to enhance the business and provide incremental content usage and revenue opportunities with current and potential customers Work closely with Espresso to help develop and maintain new business with new and existing customersWork with customers and potential customers to determine their needs and coordinate with Espresso and ITN Source London to deliver on those needs, this includes initial meetings, relevancy tests, delivery of content and ultimately the ongoing management of accountsFeed back customer insight into ECL in order to help improve the service on a continuous basisSupport and lead various new business initiatives, including identifying partnerships, negotiating deals and overseeing the successful implementation of business venturesTrack and forecast sales revenue on a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis and take action when revenue trends are less than expectedWork with marketing to identify programs or communication tools necessary to promote ITN Source and ECL to the education sector Establish ECL and ITN Source as the first choice of educational customersProvide support for any additional ITN Source and/or Espresso commercial activities in the territory that may arise from time to time

 

The successful candidate will also possess the following skills:

 

·         Extensive and successful large ticket sales experience

·         Superior customer relationship management skills that establish customer partnerships and forge long term relationships on a business to business basis

·         A strong aptitude to open new doors and attract new customers

·         Proven negotiation skills,  commercial acumen, and the creativity to build unique commercial relationships with customers

·         Personable and outgoing style

·         An instinctive understanding of the educational applications related to news events spanning the past 100 years

·         Sense of humour and creativity

·         Demonstrable skills with spreadsheets

·         Extraordinary telephone and in-person sales skills

·         Excellent presentation and communication skills

·         Ability to travel  as required

 

Qualifications:

 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and video for the education market with at least 5 years solid experience of senior business development or media licensing sales within the education segment. The primary focus of this position is sales. The candidate will be able to present a history of progressive sales responsibility and the ability to meet and beat established sales targets.
