Position Description: Reporting to the District Manager, the Business Development Manager is responsible for the marketing and business development portfolio including market research, planning, relationship management, market penetration strategies and proposal and presentation development. Responsibilities specific to the position include:
? Assemble and analyze relevant market and industry data
? Lead Strategic Account Management program
? Identify and select high potential business opportunities
? Identify risk, assess risk and develop risk management strategies
? Lead proposal development (D/B, CM and CM at Risk, P3 and unsolicited projects)
? Attend industry, political and community functions
? Act as the ambassador and public ‘face’ of the company
? Develop, implement and manage the company’s networking plan for government, consulting engineers, clients and owners, partners, subcontractors and suppliers
? Actively pursue, build and maintain strong lasting relationships in the industry and community to generate and enhance business opportunities
? Maintain existing client relationships that lead to repeat work
? Develop a thorough knowledge of client and competitor business profiles, work programs and strategies
? Educate, coach and mentor staff to enhance business development skills
? Actively participate in district strategic planning process
? Proactively determine client's needs prior to contract execution
? Supervise marketing and administrative personnel
Position Requirements:Successful candidates will have 20+ years of relevant and detailed experience in all areas of construction operations, preferably both in Florida and the South East United States, including the following:
? Operational and field experience in all aspects of heavy civil construction (transportation, aviation, roads, bridges, power, utilities) – safety, project management, estimating, construction planning, costing and accounting, subcontract management, construction engineering, craft supervision, human resources and personnel management
? Business development and marketing experience
? Contracts management, project administration and finance
? Engineering and design management
