Volt Technical Resources is looking for an experienced Business Development professional to expand our Technical Services offerings in the Charlotte area. This person is responsible for generating new business through outside Sales activities such as cold calls, prospecting, territory management and relationship building. We are seeking an individual, preferably, with previous Staffing Firm Sales experience, or perhaps an experienced Recruiter with a strong desire and drive to do new Business Development and Account Management.

This is a Direct Hire position, and the right candidate can start ASAP!!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Business Development Manager's job is to prospect for customers and develop existing accounts to their fullest potential. BDMs need to have a desire for success, a competitive spirit, perseverance, tenacity, professional manner, good listening skills and organizational skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Business Development Manager is responsible and held accountable for consistently increasing Branch revenue through the generation of new business and further development of existing accounts. Additionally, the BDM must work overtime and non-traditional business hours as needed.

The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for the following: Performing appropriate prospecting activities to identify qualified prospects for new Business Development. Establishing and maintaining good relationships with clients and the community in order to develop new business. Servicing and developing additional business opportunities within current customer base. Generating business from new accounts. Researching potential business and current customers. Maintaining active participation and membership in networking organizations. Meeting with Branch Manager and inside staff on a regular basis to communicate all customer service priorities and business/Sales opportunities. Coaching inside staff to help develop their Sales skills and comfort with the selling process. Making formal Sales presentations and follow-up calls to prospective New Business accounts. Interfacing with appropriate Field Management to establish pricing for quotes and bids that are consistent with the company's financial objectives. Maintaining a thorough working knowledge of all services offered by Volt Information Sciences and awareness of the competition, i.e. market share, pricing, services offered, etc. Expanding existing business through a combination of telephone and in-person calls to high-volume accounts as well as accounts with greater potential for increased business. Developing new business through research and prospecting. Salespeople in new territories will spend 100% of their time developing new business, while a lesser percentage of time is spent in an established territory. Being responsible for timely completion of the Weekly Sales Call Report, the Customer Profile, CRM management, Contact Sheets and Expense Reports. These are reviewed on a regular basis with the Branch Manager.

Requirements:

Required Skills for this Business Development Manager position include the following: At least five (5) years minimum of proven Sales experience and a strong Client Services background Background in IT staffing preferred Experience in a phone-based environment a huge plus Technology and Staffing background preferred Previous experience servicing, supporting, developing, and generating major accounts Ability to perform business presentations Ability to create complex Business correspondence Intermediate skill level using Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and the Internet Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment Ability to successfully communicate both verbally and in writing Ability to follow through and provide excellent customer service Strong problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize and multi-task Demonstrated sound business judgment and decision-making skills Intermediate computer skills to include Word, Outlook, and the Internet Bachelors Degree in Business or related field Minimum three (3) years of Sales experience Strong Sales track record of consistently exceeding quotas Excellent oral and written communication skills
