Position Description:

Chevron Energy Solutions (CES) is a subsidiary of Chevron Corporation, one of the world's leading energy companies, headquartered in San Ramon, California. CES is looking for a Business Development Manager familiar with providing its clients with energy solutions through the sale of performance contracts or energy solution agreements. Chevron Energy Solutions is accepting online applications for the position of Business Development Manager and will be located in one of the following cities: New York City, NY; Baltimore, Maryland/District of Columbia; Detroit, MI; Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; or St Louis, MO. This position will be open through June 15, 2008. This sales position would require a candidate to generate energy services sales within the public sector. The successful candidate will be required to function at all levels of the client’s organization, understand the business proposition of a solution sale and performance contracting, ability to write proposals, create and give presentations, and negotiate agreements on behalf of the organization.

Qualifications:

Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Identify and prospect for new clients, assess client business potential, development of client needs and business requirements, strategic and tactical account management, communicate appropriate value propositions, evaluate potential to create value for the client, prepare proposals, obtain client commitment, manage and maintain relationships with existing clients, and work with operations personnel to develop technical solutions to customer business needs. Obtain new business through performance contracts, engineering services contracts or energy service contracts that result in the implementation of energy retrofit projects including engineering, construction management and support services. Required (Basic) Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or marketing/business discipline • Minimum of 5 years related experience in the energy industry (Energy Services, Performance Contracting, HVAC industry, A&E services, utility/power generation industry or other related industry). Selection Criteria: • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the needs of the client and the implementation of a performance contract • Ability to develop a business plan and carry it out • Ability to leverage relationships and build a network • Ability to uncover client needs and identify the path required to satisfy them
