Identify opportunities for enhancing business operations through process and technology improvements and redesign. By working directly with technical and business architects, as well as the business units, the Business Analyst will conceptualize and formulate appropriate technical solutions to business problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Interviewing users, creating process maps and using other means to identify and document root causes of inefficiencies / areas of opportunity. (Defining the problem)
2. Process Design prototyping: creating and rapidly iterating through a series of process prototypes and usability sessions to solicit further feedback.
3. Defines the requirements planning process for each endeavor.
4. Elicit, analyzes and validates and documents business, organizational, and/or operational requirements and use cases for new processes or application features.
5. Facilitates test planning.
6. Produces statements of work
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Assists in troubleshooting and resolving project issues.
MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESBased on areas of business knowledge and PMO expertise, candidate may provide direction to junior staff members.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor degree in Business Management or related discipline is preferred.
Experience with technology and/or the financial securities industry is required.
At least three to five years of experience in a business analyst environment or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Project Management experience a plus.
BUSINESS COMPETENCIES1. Knowledge of securities industry and / or related financial services experience.
2. Prior experience working in a pressured (dynamic, fast-paced) environment
3. Knowledge of the firm, key functions, and customer base if internal candidate.
Broad knowledge of Financial Services systems and applications for external candidate.
