Position SummaryUnder general direction of the Director of Sales, promotes the use of and consultatively sells AmerisourceBergen solutions to medium and large retail accounts in an assigned geographic market. (Territory: Maryland, Northern Virginia, and West Virginia Panhandle). Works occasionally with the Strategic Vice President as it relates to large accounts in team selling situations. Promotes and delivers targeted solutions in order to acquire new business. Prospects for new business including collaborating with Director of Sales to make proposals and finalize deals; transitions new business to the respective account manager once new deal is finalized.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesExecutes consultative sales strategies based on the business needs of the prospective customer in order to achieve established business objectives.Works directly with subject matter experts such as Drug Company, subsidiary, corporate and regional associates during the sales process in order to execute acquisition strategies using company solutions to address customer specific needs identified during the exploration phase.Works directly with Director of Sales and corporate sales associates to transition new business acquired to the maintenance and expansion roles.Demonstrates initiative in their own on-going professional development; includes keeping abreast of the industry and its changes through the use of industry information and company literature.Participates in required sales training that will allow the AmerisourceBergen sales organization to continually maintain a consultative sales approach with all customers.Makes professional presentations to acquire new customers and utilizes the ABC Storyboarding concept as well as other company resources; these tools include the AmerisourceBergen Sales Portal, ePresentation and eBrochures.Targets prospective customers within segment and sub-segment 100% of the time, working with value propositions and acquisition strategies.Must be willing to work extended hours, as needed, in order to meet sales objectives; must be willing to travel to events such as conferences, national and regional sales meetings.Performs related duties as assigned.
Experience and Education RequirementsRequires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires four (4) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
