Description

Odyssey Thera is looking for a Bioinformatics Scientist/Software Engineer to further develop and maintain our large scale information management system to support high throughput, high content compound profiling efforts.  The successful candidate will participate in the design of data and process management solutions, further develop database, web interfaces and other tracking systems, and improve the speed and robustness of the current systems.  The candidate must be detail-oriented and work closely with scientists from multiple disciplines (in a team environment), including molecular and cell biology, high throughput/high content analysis and drug discovery under tight timelines to meet project deadlines and achieve company goals.

 

Requirements

The position requires a B.S./M.S. in computer science or related field with at least 4 years experience, preferably in a biotech/pharmaceutical R&D environment.  The successful candidate will have significant experience working with relational databases (Oracle preferred), and in a Unix/Linux environment. Candidates must have demonstrated proficiency in Perl, SQL, and XML.  Familiarity with Java, C/C++ and web related technologies (HTML, JavaScript) is desirable.  Experience with R, SAS or other statistical packages and use of data classification techniques are also desirable.  Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.
