IDBS’ domain expertise in biology and chemistry data management delivers value to the life science industry worldwide.  We work with many of the major pharmaceutical and biotech companies to enable discovery organizations to capture, analyze, store, and share research data.  By integrating biological and chemical data into a scalable and extensible environment, our software protects the principle assets of discovery organizations. 

BioBook Consultants II are responsible for driving the project lifecycle from requirements gathering and documentation, through implementation, training, and post-delivery customer support.  Successful candidates have a research and/ or project management background and posses a strong ability to work with scientists, business professionals, and colleagues to maximize the value of IDBS’ products.

Responsibilities: 

Develop customer project plans, communication plans, reporting and metrics. Consultancy and template building for our broad customer base.Manage requirements analysis for customer templates.Participate in pilots and evaluation of core products. Deliver standard IDBS product-training courses. Install and configure IDBS products on-site at customer locations. Obtain customer feedback as a means to drive new product development.Manage and successfully deliver mid-size customer projects. Project management of consultancy assignments and personal work.Support customers and co-workers during product upgrades. Conduct systems analysis, development and/ or testing for custom development projects. Assist and advise on GMP, GLP and compliance related issues as they relate to our products and our customers.Perform application testing and provide help desk support.Develop strong relationships with scientists and business professionals within our customers’ organizations. Utilize strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills to help lead and implement solutions. Offer sales support through application assistance and template building.Identify new sales opportunities in the existing customer base.Reports to the Director of Professional Services.

 

Requirements:   

Strong Domain experience working within or supporting research in pharmacology, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, toxicology, or safety science.Demonstrated business savvy and ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, including scientists and business professionals.Relevant Domain knowledge and experience in implementing and consulting on data management solutions.Highly self-motivated with the ability to take initiative in both customer and business settings.Demonstrated ability to develop project plans and formulate targeted solutions.Ability to identify risks and proactively mitigate their outcome. Strong product knowledge and excellent commercial awareness.Excellent verbal communication skills both with colleagues and customers. Strong technical writing skills and the ability to document requirements and workflow analysis. Possess a strong work-ethic and professional demeanor both in working with customers and colleagues.Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Flexible and adaptable to changing customer needs and work environments.Must exhibit a confidence and enthusiasm for working with new customers and new challenges.Technical experience with bioinformatics or cheminformatics data management systems, or other LIMS systems, or experience with GraphPad Prism, Sigma Plot, WinoNonLin, SAS, R, JMP and other major statistical packages.Advanced PL/SQL or VBA/.NET coding. Advanced skills in Excel and Oracle. Strong familiarity with GMP, GLC, and general compliance and ability to advise on compliance issues. General IT skills and database experience. 3-7 years experience.Graduate level work in Biology or Chemistry preferred. Regional travel varies over periods of time, but on average amounts to approximately 25-50%.
