Bilingual German/English-Technical Coordinator of New Project Development

 

STIHL Inc. has an immediate opening for a Technical Coordinator for New Project Development reporting to our Engineering department!  As part of our Engineering department you will play a vital role in the coordination and planning of new parts/products through SAP.  You have the opportunity to work among our 1800 employees located in Virginia Beach, VA.  STIHL produces various finished products including chain saws, blowers, and trimmers, which are sold throughout the world at independently owned dealerships.  Are you interested in learning more?    

 

Position Responsibilities:

·          Planning and coordination of prototype production series (V and E series).

·          Presents prototype series requirements in weekly production meetings to include the following departments; Production Planning, Marketing, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Purchasing).

·          Planning, organization and coordination of ‘New Parts” through interaction with parent company in Germany to include these responsibilities:

o         Create and Maintain New Parts list through SAP

o         Oversee requirements of component parts

o         Coordination of “New Part” procurement

o         Coordinate / Oversee the prototype inventory

o         Review release status and parts availability

·          Setup and maintain Material Master Records for “New Parts.”

·          Setup and maintain Bills of Materials for “New Parts.

·          Support Manufacturing Engineering with Technical Information from the Engineering group in Germany.

·          Special project work (Control Engineering Data via SAP-EDM, System and Process improvements for SAP-PSN).

·          Maintain “Project Handbook.”

 

Requirements:

·          Bilingual English/German required.

·          4 years related experience.

·          Strong written and oral communication skills.

·          4 year college degree in related discipline (desired).

·          Proficient in a business/office system; SAP (desired).
