As a Banking Loan Consultant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, originating quality residential mortgage loans which correspond to current program and product parameters. Develop consistent production of leads from assigned financial centers, as well as, participate in various business development activities by contacting potential or existing customers to develop new business or retain existing business. 1. Develop a strong partnership with the assigned retail bank stores to increase mortgage loan originations from Retail Bank Customers by co-marketing with Personal Financial Representative and Retail Bank Store Manager. 2. Conducts training and referral clinics to employees at the Retail Bank Store and provides on going product/pricing updates.3. Actively cross-sell and provide referrals to other areas of the Retail Bank.4. Collect and analyze information regarding customer’s income, assets, and debts; determining which financial products best meet the customer’s needs and financial circumstances, advising the customer regarding the advantages and disadvantages of different financial products, as well as marketing, servicing and promoting Washington Mutual Banking products. 5. Maintain consistent communication flows throughout the loan process with all involved parties to ensure timely appraisals, credit decisions, funding and to expeditiously resolve all issues and questions. 6. Maintain current and thorough understanding and familiarity with all program/product policies and procedures and continually provides accurate and updated information to all customers. Employees must participate in required training on pertinent compliance laws and regulations as required by Washington Mutual.
This position requires 20% travel. Minimum of 18 months mortgage loan origination experience 3-5 years of inside and outside sales experience preferred Relationship management and cross selling experience Thorough knowledge of lending regulations, loan requirements and general finance Superior customer service skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently Self motivated and excellent organizational and follow-up skills Sales experience in a collaborative sale environment preferred Bachelor’s Degree preferred
