Job Summary:
As a key member of the marketing team, the Marketing, Channel Manager will be responsible for planning, developing and managing innovative and strategic marketing programs to promote The Funds and to build a high level of awareness in the firm’s bank distribution channel. This position requires proactive coordination with all aspects of the organization: marketing, product development, technology, sales, portfolio management and operations to develop marketing programs and maximize impact.
Specific responsibilities include:
Ø Building strong partnerships within the Bank distribution channel (includes both internal and external clients, which are our sales team and client banks, respectively), playing the central role in the execution of all bank marketing programs.
Ø Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of Firm’s products, customers, distribution channels (focus on bank channel, but critical to know all) marketing strategies and new business goals. Tracking and analyzing competition in terms of product, performance, and investment strategies.
Ø Participating in development of marketing programs to develop and promote brand and solutions via relationship marketing, direct selling, direct/e-mail marketing, conferences, website (internal/external) and sales.
Ø Assisting in the development of bank channel product entry strategies for new business initiatives. Includes conducting primary research and analysis for new business segments in financial services, e.g., FDIC-insured accounts, sweep programs as well as other types of bank programs.
Ø Developing and executing projects that broaden Firm’s ability to penetrate the bank channel and deepen existing partnerships. Includes coordinating programs from development through deployment including the definition of strategies, tactics and key messages for development of creative and tactical execution.
Ø Participate in kick-off meetings with newly contracted banks. Develop an understanding of the bank’s goals and recommend appropriate marketing strategies and tactics to help grow their business/profitability.
Requirements:
Ø Minimum of 5+ years financial services experience with 4+ years experience in a marketing function
Ø A team player – able to work well with all areas of the company including executive management, marketing, sales, operations, technology and portfolio managers.
Ø Proven experience marketing financial services and investment management products, particularly in the bank channel.
Ø Ability to conduct research and obtain information from a variety of sources to develop competitive and strategic overviews for new business segments.
Ø Ability to think creatively and execute projects to promote Firm’s products and services.
Ø Ability to work independently and proactively to utilize internal resources to develop new business development programs and marketing strategies.
Ø Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
Ø Experience in writing/content management for financial products and mutual funds. Must be able to receive detailed information via oral communication and deliver concise content that can be used in printed and electronic media.
Ø Experience in preparing presentations and delivering to senior management and client audiences.
Ø Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying ideas and discussing issues with both internal and external parties, including senior management.
Ø NASD securities licenses (Series 6, 7) a plus
