Conceive, plan, design, implement, and report on broad system level tests for complex integrated avionics systems that span several multi-disciplinary functions. Anticipate, specify, plan, and develop test methods, including test automation tools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Obtain and continue to maintain an in-depth understanding of Garmin integrated avionics systems, including nominal, off-nominal/reversionary, and failed operations. Coordinate and execute test plans Write system level test plans that clearly explain test objectives and detail test steps Report test results in writing (and orally as needed) Update and maintain the needs of data logging capabilities for development programs and continue to make improvements to the user interface for analyzing the collected data. Anticipate, specify, implement, and maintain tools (including test automation tools) that improve the quality, efficiently, and scalability of the test team’s services. Conceive, implement, and maintain processes that improve the quality and scalability of the group’s services. Identify, prioritize, and regularly review hardware and software release objectives so that test infrastructure and plans are ready when needed, and so that testing can ultimately be executed when needed. Develop and debug software architecture for automation of test process in high level programming language in accordance with Garmin's software development methodology.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Test conception and test design for complex electronic and elctro-mechanical systems Test automation, including test scripting capability Communication: written (planning, reporting) and verbal communication skills Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Software / Computer Science Engineering, Computer Engineer, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university Relevant education and/or experience in software design, development and maintenance, as required for the successful performance of the essential functions of the positionDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.2) 5+ years applicable experience Pilot’s License Good knowledge of Garmin’s aviation product lines and customer needs
