The Homeland Security Solutions Division currently has an opening for an Automation and Performance Test Engineer position. This position, as a member of the Testing and Evaluation Team, provides support to USCIS in development and maintenance of automated testing framework/tests and is responsible for supporting systems assurance team automation efforts across various applications. The candidate will implement Business Process Testing approach and framework and support systems of a highly complex nature with little supervision including research, design, evaluation, and recommendation. The ideal candidate would be one of the following: Senior Automation Test Engineer with advanced working knowledge of Mercury QualityCenter Business Process Testing model and strong Data Driven Testing approach skills, advanced knowledge of Mercury QuickTest Pro and WinRunner tools; Software Engineer with working experience in Visual Basic programming, strong SQL programming skills.

Required Skills/Education: Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 5+ years related experience. 11 years of professional experience and 5 years related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Must have Development/programming experience. Current working knowledge of Mercury QuickTest Professional and QualityCenter. Must have experience in setting up advanced automation approaches with emphasis on modular programming and code re-use across multiple projects. Must understand of relational databases and their use in information systems. Understand SQL and its syntax while retrieving, updating, and inserting information into the databases. Must have previous experience introducing and establishing new automated testing processes. Must be able to support multiple projects and project teams at the same time. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, possess the ability to perform in a technical team, and interface with the client as needed. Candidate must have previous experience supporting software development projects, and demonstrate an understanding of accepted practices of the Software Development Life Cycle Management. This position requires U.S. citizenship and candidate must be able to obtain a DHS Public Trust Security Clearance.

Desired Skills: Mercury certification. Experience with the following software: Mercury QuickTest Pro and WinRunner; Mercury LoadRunner; Mercury QualityCenter and Application Delivery Dashboard. Experience in QualityCenter administration and setup. Experience testing software at the API levels. Experience in Keyword Driven Testing. Previous experience working with the following environments: Web, Oracle Forms, Siebel.
