Description:

AIG Advisor Group, the operating body for multiple broker-dealers, approximately 8000 registered representatives, and affiliated and independent investment advisors, seeks an in-house attorney with at least five (5) years of proven experience applying the ’40 Investment Advisors Act and related industry regulations to the daily operations of financial services firms. Candidate must possess knowledge of the federal securities laws as they relate to all portfolio management and investment advisory practices; sales and promotional efforts: sub-advisors and third-party money managers; and the application of the ’40 Act to retail, institutional and retirement-related accounts. This attorney will provide counsel for the introduction and operation of new advisory services; guide AIG Advisor Group and its registered representatives during their portfolio management and advisory activities; and work closely with our compliance and risk-management functions to ensure the proper application of relevant securities laws and industry regulations. The position, which will be based in New York, NY, will require the ability to fully support business executives offering a variety of advisory services and products to a national client base of registered representatives and investors; the candidate must work well in a fast-paced environment requiring attention to deadlines and the ability to manage multiple projects while providing daily counsel on investment advisory legal, compliance and regulatory matters (periodic travel may be required).
