Are you a Retail/Restaurant professional looking for a whole new way of working? Join Whole Foods Market as a Metro Associate Store Team Leader (Assistant Store Manager) in the Michigan Metro Market.  This position requires the ability to transfer to any store in the Michigan Metro Market.  Currently our stores are located in West Bloomfield, Rochester Hills, Troy, and Ann Arbor.  

Teamwork is at the heart of Whole Foods Market, and you will lead a team with your creativity, passion for the product, and quality driven leadership style. The ASTL reports to and is guided by the Store Manager (Store Team Leader) In conjunction with the Store Leadership you will be responsible for Team Member hiring, development, terminations and generally holding all teams accountable for their work. The ASTL is responsible for profitability, expense control (packaging and labor), inventory control, buying and merchandising, regulatory compliance and special projects as assigned. Complete accountability for all aspects of store operations and perform all duties and responsibilities of team positions. We are looking for individuals who lead, not manage, work teams. You will be encouraged to help run the store as if it was your own business (within certain guidelines of course). This is a position that will prepare you for Store or Leadership within Whole Foods Market.

Duties/Requirements:
Three or more years of experience in a Store/Restaurant Leadership role or equivalent. Demonstrated creativity in promoting sales, merchandising and/or marketing. Demonstrated strong Operational Execution skills. Ability and willingness to transfer to other stores in the Michigan Metro Area (including Ann Arbor) as needed. Must be 18 years or older and work up to a maximum of 8-10 hours per day. Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break. Should be or have been a successful Team Leader or equivalent. Have a thorough knowledge of products, buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess sound judgement, be levelheaded, and fair-minded. Have exceptional organizational skills; able and willing to multi-task. Able and willing to work mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and long/unusual hours as needed. Knowledge of and love for natural food.
