The Scientist, within the Epigenetics GEP R&D group will create, develop and refine products for analysis of eukaryotic DNA methylation
Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for supporting the ongoing epigenetic research programs at Invitrogen. Executes scientific research with other research staff and in individual studies. Cooperatively plans and designs experiments. Critically analyzes complex data using knowledge of the latest Epigenetic research.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience not only in cutting edge epigenetic research, but also in marketing, business development, and field applications in the Biotechnology Industry.

Epigenetic related laboratory experience required. Candidate should have a strong background with hands-on lab experience in one or more of the following fields: molecular biology, cell biology, assay development, fluorescence techniques, microarrays, bioinformatics, and/or biochemistry. Preference will be given to those who have experience in DNA methylation analysis, high-throughput sequencing, recombinant protein expression-purification-characterization, chromatin biology, non-coding RNAs and related fields.

Proven ability to quickly learn large amounts of new, complex technical information required. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written. Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills required. Ability to manage multiple priorities required. Computer literacy is essential.

Educational Requirements:
M.S. + 2 years or B.S. with 4-6 years experience in molecular biology or related field
