Job Summary:
Associate Deans are responsible for the instructional content and delivery of online disciplines under their charge. They recruit and train faculty for these disciplines, and comprehensively mentor and remotely manage these faculty who are geographically distributed throughout the country. Deans also play a key role in the development, revision and the maintenance of the courses with their programs. Knowledge of pedagogy, technology, and online learning best practices is preferred.

In this newly-created position reporting to the Director of Online Learning, you will play a key role in helping us to better understand key business drivers and customers? needs.
General Duties:
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise online instructors. Staff courses and schedule instructors for academic terms. Appraise instructor performance by completing per-term and annual evaluations. Conduct quarterly conference calls with instructor to review new procedures, performance expectations, and methods to upgrade and improve courses. Schedule and enroll instructors in annual training. Assign and oversee online course development and revisions. Carry out ad-hoc projects to improve the quality of online education. Communicate daily with remotely located instructors regarding day-to-day instructional issues, ranging from course content to student issues. Interface with student services staff to resolve student issues involving coursework and/or instructor issues. Requirements: Master?s Degree is required. Experience working with postsecondary faculty in a leadership, managerial, or advisory role. Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Online teaching experience preferred, including familiarity with online delivery platforms such as eCollege and Blackboard. Computer skills including Microsoft Office. Commitment to student retention and strong problem solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
