Required Skills: Candidates should possess an undergraduate degree, relevant work experience, excellent high-level interpersonal and written communication skills, a desire to sell and the ability to learn quickly. Travel will be extensive and approximate 75-100 days per annum. Additional activity involvement should indicate both broad interests and leadership capability. Series 7 certification not required for application, but will be required within three months of employment.

 

Preferred Skills: Candidates would possess an undergraduate business degree with concentration in finance, accounting and/or economics in additional to 1-2 years sales and/or finance work experience.

 

Essential Job Functions: The capital markets environment is collegial, high paced, competitive and puts a premium on being well organized and capable of juggling many projects/tasks simultaneously. Sales professionals work with equity research analysts, traders, and syndicate professionals to increase revenue and market share at important institutional accounts (investment management firms, mutual funds, and hedge funds) nationwide. We are responsible for understanding the equity research product through analysis, corporate management meetings, self-study, and analyst interviews and presenting that product to client portfolio managers and analysts. Additionally, we arrange meetings between corporate executives of public companies and clients, sponsor field trips for clients to public company corporate headquarters and organize industry conferences throughout the United States that offer additional venues for client/corporate management interaction. Areas of research specialization include Consumer, Energy, Financial/Real Estate, and Industrial verticals complemented by an emerging presence in select areas of Healthcare and Technology.

 

Position compensation is salary with annual line of business bonus eligibility year one, monthly commission with annual line of business bonus thereafter.

 

Training Provided: Standard enterprise-wide compliance training is required.
