Description:
The Assistant Truck Buyer will support the daily functions of Transportation contract administration for multiple modes of carriage. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Own strategic relationship with carriers providing $100M in freight moves -Contracting / communicating with carriers -Monitor single lane requests for quotes, rates, or bids from carriers primarily for internal material moves -Solicit mid-level quotes and bids from Tier-2 carriers and monitor the analysis of said solicitations -Review pricing information to determine the economic impact to the enterprise -Assist in Client support organization in satisfying transportation needs and in resolving outstanding issues -Develop an understanding of transportation company capabilities -Manage filing and return of contracts, rates, amendments, addendums, etc, upon signature -Work directly with carrier on cost savings, problem suppliers, problem lanes, new lanes, and billing issues -Work closely with Account Managers to understand business and service requirements for internal and external customers -Work closely with claim administrator, as necessary. Support the claim administrator in the resolution, collection, or removal of all claims -Monitor service performance reports to ensure carriers continuously improve their service when available -Meet with potential carriers to determine if they meet transportation needs.

Requirements:
-4-year Degree in related field such as Supply Chain or Logistics -Minimum 3-5 years of experience -Experience with pricing on a regional/national level -Experience with LTL
