ACADEMIC OPERATIONAL ADMINISTRATOR

Fordham enrolls approximately 15,000 undergraduate and graduate students in its 10 colleges and schools, and the University is on an expansion program across all disciplines. Fordham Westchester Avenue is currently seeking an Academic Operational Administrator.
Responsibilities will include: Works with the Executive Director as needed with special tasks and projects associated with the central administration of the campus.Serves as frontline administrator for Fordham Westchester Avenue, coordinating employees, students and visitors as needed. Assist the Executive Director in the supervision of all day-to-day budget planning and operations for Fordham Westchester.Develops and maintains a documents management system.Develops and maintains a mail recording , distribution and information sharing system.Assists the academic units from in a central administrative role in supporting the operations and maintenance and repair of academic infrastructure such as computer and telecommunications equipment and services.Assists as directed with campus budgeting matters.Oversees disbursement of parking permits to students, faculty and staff.Works with Procurement for the production of identification cards.Manages the accessibility to classrooms, resource rooms, and meeting rooms.Ensures that faculty, staff and students have access to all campus services and resources.Coordinates, with the Executive Director, the publicizing and enforcing campus policies.Through written and oral communication, informs building users of how to locate services within the building, hours of operation of various units, office hours of personnel, functions and services of various schools and their programs.Promotes the campus to external constituencies via campus tours and web-based communication.Educates building users about services and functions at the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campuses.Assists in coordinating the assignment of classrooms for academic units housed at the campus.Responsible for the coordination of the reservation for special events such as open houses, mock interviews, training workshops, orientations, mid day events, meetings for University administration, etc.Works cooperatively with other academic/administrative offices throughout the University.
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a mid- to large-size organization; experience in higher education and with business systems preferred. A Bachelor's degree with added coursework or experience related to management, human resources, organizational effectiveness and/or administration. Must have excellent public relations, communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully interact with people in potentially stressful and/or emergency situations. Excellent computer skills (Excel, website management and maintenance) required. Must be strongly customer-focused, with excellent judgment and problem-solving abilities. Hours: 5 days (including Saturday)/35 per week, 8:30am – 4:30 PM.
