CITY: Fairfield STATE: Connecticut COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities): 1. Technical research and consulting to GE's corporate internal audit staff a. Support internal auditors on technical accounting matters b. Research and conclude on technical accounting issues based on U.S. GAAP, external accounting pronouncements and GE accounting policies c. Liase with GE's corporate accounting team and business controllers to reach conclusion and document for internal audit workpapers d. Consult with external auditors (KPMG) on technical issues, as necessary 2. Design and conduct technical accounting training sessions for internal auditors in the following areas: a. New external accounting pronouncements b. GE accounting practice and policy c. Themes and observations from audit findings d. Ongoing improvement of existing trainings 3. Monitor open internal audit staff recommendations and action items with the business and current open audit issues in conjunction with the quarterly closing a. Present issues with financial exposure to VP, Audit Staff and VP, Corporate Comptroller for concurrence on current quarter treatment b. Increase internal audit staff effectiveness and productivity through initiatives on risk assessment, workpaper documentation and continuous auditing Qualifications/Requirements: 1.
