TITLE:

 

Assistant Project Manager

 

SUMMARY:  Assist the Project Manager of major railcar Contracts for vehicle refurbishment and new car manufacturing

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

·            General co-ordination and leadership of the Plateau Team

·            Review the budgets and work-packages from individual budget holders and report performance to PM

·            Ensure the use of best practice in the Plateau Team by use of ALSTOM tools and processes

·            Ensure the preparation and submission of various Project reports internally within ALSTOM (SPR, WPs reviews, PM meeting minutes, Milestones of Payment, Correspondence KPIs, etc.)

·            Monitor and Report processes and procedures, as required, for the effective management and control of all phases of the Project

·            Monitor schedule compliance and put in place necessary corrective actions, if necessary, to ensure achievement of major milestones

·            Support the PM with some interfaces with the customer, vendors and PUs.

·            Support the PM managing interfaces with operations program team (Sourcing, Contracts, Engineering, etc.)

·            Any and all other responsibilities, in addition to those mentioned above, as assigned by supervisor/manager. Any interpretation/clarification with responsibilities above will be settled by the supervisor/manager. This list of responsibilities is not all inclusive and may change, be added to or deleted from any time

 

 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Educational Requirements

4-yr Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree

 

Desired Knowledge / Experience

 

·            Strong customer focus

·            Strong Project Management Skills

·            Strong business acumen

·            Cross-functional capability

·            Has to be recognized by his/her peers and ensure good interface with the other functions to achieves his/her goals

·            4 – 5 years Experience Preferred
