Assistant Professor
(Pediatric Endocrinologist)
in the Dept. of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Endocrinology, Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Responsible for clinical, academic, & administrative services. Clinical services include eight half-day clinic sessions per week; this responsibility also includes an equitable share of in-patient care as well as on-call duty. Clinical activity is assigned predominately in the Pediatric Endocrine Clinic at MUSC & includes specialized care in diabetes & endocrine diseases to children of South Carolina. Outpatient clinical service is also provided in outreach clinics in SC. Also supervises staff including nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, diabetes nurse educators, & other individuals who provide patient care in the Pediatric Endocrine Division. Academic services (teaching activities & professional development) include the teaching of medical students, residents, & fellows including assisting in the training of MUSC?s Pediatric Endocrine Fellows. Administrative services involve accomplishing general administrative operating functions, including requisite attendance at faculty meetings, divisional meetings, conferences, etc., as necessary. Requires Doctor of Medicine degree, Residency training in Pediatrics, three-year Fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology, expertise in diabetes management, & license to practice medicine in South Carolina.
