ASSISTANT FACILITY MANAGER – Santa Fe Springs, CA

 

Job Title: Assistant Facility Manager 

 

Accountability:  This position is directly accountable to the Facility Manager.

 

General Statement of the Job:

 

The Assistant Facility Manager provides and coordinates, through staff, services to Rinchem customers in the areas of warehousing and/or affiliated services.

 

General Requirements of the Job:

 

1.      Must be at least 21 years of age.

2.      4-year college degree is preferred, but not required.

3.      At least 2 years of experience in facility operations. 

4.      Must be able to successfully complete all required training to perform job duties.

5.      Must be able to successfully pass post-offer employment physical and drug screen and maintain medical certification annually.

         

Principal Duties:

 

1.      Responsible for assisting the Facility Manager in operating a safe facility, in compliance with showcase inspection guidelines, NFPA guidelines and OSHA, RCRA and DOT regulations.

2.      Participation in, and/or leading of, weekly Safety/Operations Meetings with all Facility Staff.  Meetings are to address safety issues, service improvement to clients, updating and review of applicable SOPs and Corrective Action Reports.

3.      Responsible for coordinating with staff members to meet all client expectations in a proactive manner so that all employees are empowered to accomplish their responsibilities with minimal day-to-day instruction.

4.      Coordinate with staff members to ensure that the highest standards of equipment maintenance and safety are consistently met.

5.      Coordinate with Logistics Clients and their customers to meet their receiving, storage and transportation requirements in a manner that promotes the use of additional Rinchem services among existing and potential Logistics Clients.

6.      Coordinate the prompt and accurate flow of paperwork between the office and warehouse to provide for accurate invoicing, payroll and inventory control records.

7.      Schedule and perform training and cross training among staff members to ensure coverage for absences, employee turnover and job enrichment of staff members.

8.      Participate with Facility Manager in performance evaluations of staff members.

9.      Assist Manager in the hiring, training, support, empowerment and mentoring of employees of the highest caliber available.

10.  Promote and insist on positive attitudes among all employees where respect is consistently shown to everyone with whom we deal.

11.  Assist Manager and Business Development Manager in the preparation of the annual revenue, expense and capital expenditure budgets and take personal responsibility along with these individuals for achieving or surpassing the results budgeted.

12. Perform all other operations and administrative duties as needed.
