One of the fastest growing educational institutions, with a 120 year history of excellence in nursing education, is seeking an Assistant Dean to join their team in Columbus, Ohio. You will report to the campus dean and will be responsible for managing faculty and resources to ensure that the nursing program curricula and policies are appropriately and effectively administered on campus.
Responsibilities
Recruit, select, and supervise qualified faculty for the nursing programsDetermine and assign appropriate faculty workloadsAdminister the implementation and assessment of the nursing program curricula on the campusCommunicate with academic committees to ensure that appropriate goals and projects are implementedCommunicate regularly with the Campus Dean regarding department activities and active or potential problemsMonitor student success including student retention, student graduation rates, NCLEX pass rates, and student satisfactionServe as resource person, mentor, and policy interpreter for students experiencing difficulties not resolved with an instructor or advisorAssist faculty and clinical coordination office with the selection, approval and maintenance of clinical sites for student clinical experiencesCollaborate with clinical coordination office for clinical placement of nursing students to meet program objectives.Develop, administer, and solicit recommendations from program faculty for annual budget for the nursing programsCoordinate standardized testing including ordering of and distributing materials, overseeing exams, and evaluating effectiveness of curriculumServe on college committees to ensure continuity of program outcomesServe as program administrator and supervises accreditation and regulatory standards, including the timely completion of required reports
Experience and Skills Required
Masters Degree in Nursing (Doctorate Preferred)Professional Nurse License5 years full-time experience in Nursing EducationStaff Nurse experience preferredExcellent Communication skillsHigh level of initiative and prudent judgmentMaternal, OB/GYN, and/or Pediatrics nursing experience is a major plus
