We are a stable, well established, and rapidly growing Hotel Company operating mid level franchise hotels. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our dynamic staff as an Assistant Accounting Manager at our East Windsor, New Jersey headquarters.
This position assists in planning, administering, and managing various accounting functions in accordance with company policies and procedures as well ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals and is responsible for making day-to-day decisions in the Accounting Department.

We are looking for a candidate who is great with both numbers and people; who is well-organized, capable of prioritization, punctual, responsible, detail-oriented, and accurate in a fast-paced environment and who additionally displays excellent communication skills. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Five years experience in the supervision of staff, and in the preparation and review of financial statements and disclosures.
•Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; knowledge of accounting and audit practices in the Hospitality and Restaurant industry a strong plus.
•Strong computer skills, including excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and Access; MAS 500, Crystal Reports and FRX Reports knowledge a strong plus.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization and with external contacts and to communicate clearly in a positive manner.
•Innovative team player that challenges current processes and devises innovative solutions.
•Able to both lead and work on cross-functional teams and to exercise good judgment
•Ability to plan and accomplish goals as well as prioritize and adhere to deadlines.
•A solid work history background; dependable and reliable.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•Assist with day-to-day accounting functions as needed to ensure a timely processing of accounting work.
•Provide guidance and support to staff to help improve performance and develop technical competencies.
•Report modification and design in Access, Crystal Reports, and FRX.
•Assist in the supervision of the month end close. Assist in the preparation of required analysis and journal entries during monthly ledger closing process to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
•Review, monitor, and recommend improvements to internal controls.
•Identify opportunities to streamline accounting data and processes and work cross functionally to design and implement changes.
•Assist non-finance departments with reporting and accounting issues and participate in financial projects and initiatives as assigned.
•Assist in the preparation quarterly/annual corporate reporting and periodic internal and external audits.
