Job Description:
The Asset Protection Manager (APM) is responsible for executing key initiatives relating to theft, fraud, operational accountability, safety and environmental compliance in The Home Depot stores. The APM must be skilled at building partnerships and must be responsive to the Asset Protection (AP) concerns of the Store Manager (SM), District Manager, (DM), District Asset Protection Manager (DAPM) and all store associates. Key responsibilities include supervising hourly AP associates, assessing and reporting AP vulnerabilities and developing strategies to address them, conducting internal and external theft and fraud investigations, ensuring preservation of evidence, accurate reporting and truthful testimony, ensuring execution of all shrink-related operational processes, driving safety and environmental programs and educating store associates on AP programs and processes. A qualified APM can multi-task and obtain the cooperation and buy-in of associates to achieve goals. The APM must remain focused on store specific business objectives identified in partnership with the SM while ensuring key AP responsibilities are fulfilled
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities –
• Drive execution of store safety programs and ensure compliance with company standards and policies. Use data to identify trends that may lead to accidents.
• Ensure environmental compliance to company standards.
• Execute and drive shrink related operational processes. Independently analyze store data to identify associate behaviors and/or operational issues which may cause shrink.
• Drive execution of the company’s internal and external theft and fraud strategy and ensure compliance with company standards and policies.
• Conduct internal investigations in partnership with the DAPM and Human Resources. Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner. Monitor criminal cases, appear in court and testify.
• Recruit and select qualified hourly AP associates. Supervise, develop and retain qualified hourly AP associates.

Environmental Job Requirements –
Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise drafts or bright lights.
Physical Job Requirements –
• Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment or moderate weight (8 – 20 pounds)
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time
Minimum Qualifications -
• 18 years or older
• Pass the Drug Test
• Pass the Background Check
Education Required -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED
Years of Relevant Work Experience - 2
Additional Qualifications –
• Relevant work experience in any of the following fields: Store Operations, Asset protection, Safety, Environmental, Law Enforcement or Military
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Preferred Qualifications -
Four year college degree in related field .
