Area Managers

Area Managers sought to work onsite with healthcare providers to coordinate quality improvement services related to patient safety and prevention.  Service areas will include Tidewater, Northern Virginia, and the western part of the state to include Roanoke.  Candidates are needed that reside in these areas.

VHQC Area Managers will provide onsite consultative services with healthcare providers in settings to include area hospitals, nursing homes, and physician office practices for the purpose of implementing system and process changes resulting in improved patient care and safety.

Area Manager applicants must possess demonstrated ability to work independently, to manage multiple priorities, and to design and implement plans of action related to clinical projects.  Candidates are needed possessing subject matter expertise in areas to include wound care management, infection control, health information technology and quality improvement.

The role will call for developing relationships with and performing individual provider or practice needs assessment on identified hospitals, nursing homes, or physician practices in assigned areas.  Plans of action will be developed in collaboration with providers, including evidence based intervention strategies, and onsite technical assistance.

Bachelors degree required.  Masters degree or the equivalent combination of education and or experience preferred.  Desired course of studies may include healthcare, business management, information management or related field.  Clinical background a helpful asset.  Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and their practical application preferred.

Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years health-related project management and quality improvement experience required.  Ability to travel between healthcare providers to include a combination of hospitals, nursing homes, physician office or other healthcare settings.
