Responsibilities
The Area HR Manager is responsible for the overall management and delivery of HR services. The primary focus of the position is to support the management teams of the Oconomowoc Distribution Center and the Kenosha Commissary regarding programs, policies, and practices in various areas of Human Resources including recruitment, talent management, labor relations, payroll, performance management, employee relations, and EEOC/labor law compliance. Specific duties may include:
Lead by displaying a positive approach to team management and coach others for job success; develop performance improvement/training plans for employees.Work with management teams in each facility regarding all employee issues involving conflict management, progressive discipline, harassment, leaves of absence, as well as promotions and employee recognition programs.Ensure compliance to all company policies, practices and procedures.Work with VP of Human Resources, Legal Counsel, Warehouse Operations, and Transportation management teams to ensure consistent practice and administration of union contract. Participate in regular Labor Management meetings, grievance meetings, arbitrations and contract negotiations.Manage the staffing process each facility to effectively recruit, interview, and hire hourly and salaried candidates. Assist the VP of Distribution and VP of Manufactured Foods with talent management, development strategies, and succession planning.Develop procedures that comply with Corporate, State and Federal mandates and requirements (including OSHA, EEOC,
Wage and Hour, etc.).Evaluate and recommend compensation for management personnel for new hires, promotions, transfers, etc.Serve as an intermediary between home office and management teams in each facility to develop understanding and working relationships, and to resolve problems. Report to VP of Human Resources any problems, issues, events occurring in each facility.Participate in committees or meetings as directed by the VP of Human Resources.
Requirements
BS/BA in Business or equivalent
At least eight years of relevant experience to include three years of HR supervisory experience.
Prefer strong generalist background in a retail environment.
Outstanding written and oral communication skillsSalaried Position. Some travel required.
