Our client is a mid-sized award-winning architectural firm. We're currently seeking a junior, mid-level or senior level Project Designer for the San Jose office.
Senior Project Designer: Requires experience in high-density multi-family residential or academic projects, a strong architectural design background, knowledge of AutoCAD 2002 or later and Microsoft Office required, basic understanding of modeling software - preferably SketchUp or Rhino; rendering software - preferably 3D Studio Max or Maxwell Render and Building Information Modeling software - preferably Revit, desired, but not required. B.Arch required.
The following positions require a minimum Bachelor of Architecture degree and experience in academic projects (higher-ed or K-12 Schools).
Job Captain: 3 to 5 years of experience; architectural graduate; license not required but currently taking the ARE with a clear license timeline goal is important; knowledge of BIM and sustainable design.
Project Designer: 3- 5 years experience. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard architectural techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment for minor adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specific objectives requiring investigation of limited set of variables. Performs architectural assignments with direction, not immediate supervision and with limited design responsibility. Recommends and selects procedures. May be assisted by architects or technicians. May be responsible for phases of individual revenue-producing projects.
Senior Job Captain: Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate their passion for excellent design, strong technical abilities and proficiency in the preparation of construction documents through recent project experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Higher Education (or Schools) projects is required. This position demands active, hands-on involvement during design development, construction documentation, and construction administration phases to ensure quality control of all work products prepared under their direction. Candidate must be able to assume increasing leadership responsibility by assisting with staff development and project management.
Project Architect: The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the development of high-quality projects that demonstrate strong design concepts. A minimum of 10 years of experience in Higher Education projects is required, Revit & Leed certification is a big plus. Responsibilities include developing design concepts and solutions in support of schematic, design development and construction documents for large and complex projects; providing guidance and direction to junior staff; and conferring with stakeholders, subconsultants and other team members on high level design strategies which address client needs and budgets.
