Architect - Design Team Leader-Long Term Project
Do you like a good challenge? Would a water-front office inspire your creativity? Do you enjoy occasional business travel? We have a terrific long term architectural opportunity in Norfolk, VA with a US Government Client. We are seeking a degreed architect to lead our design team on a variety of building projects including housing, educational, and dining facilities.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Architecture and be knowledgeable in CADD. The architect needs experience in Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and design. An Architectural registration is preferred, but not required.
Some of the Architect's responsibilities will be to:
-Develop building and facility programs
-Participate in planning and design charrettes
-Create designs and specifications for construction
-Review contractor submittals and provide support to the construction offices.
-Coordinate the architectural features with the mechanical, electrical and structural sections to ensure that all technical areas are covered
-Ensure that areas of overlapping responsibilities between technical disciplines receive proper design attention
-Meet or exceed project objectives and schedules
-Act as the Design Team Leader on building construction.
This is a long term (5 year) position with moderate travel. US citizenship is required and a minor background clearance will be completed prior to employment.
