Apprenticeship Coordinator

STIHL Inc. has an immediate opening for an Apprenticeship Coordinator in our Manufacturing Department.  As part of our operations team you will play a vital role in working within our 1,000,000 square foot facility.  You have the opportunity to work among our 1800 employees located in Virginia Beach, VA.  STIHL produces various finished products including chain saws, blowers and trimmers through manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly and injection molding.  Are you interested in learning more?   

Position Responsibilities:

·          Creates and delivers apprentice curriculum for practical and theoretical training.

·          Formulates program outlines and determines instructional methods, designs evaluations, and develops program schedules.

·          Builds and instructs curriculum associated to apprenticeships in Tool & Die and CNC Machining, and associated departments with approved metal-trades apprenticeship program.

·          Works with various governmental agencies regarding program certifications or credits.

·          Supervises apprentice schedules and practical education and work. 

·          Coordinates the daily supervision of apprentice with departments in which apprentices work.

·          Tests and evaluates apprentices to regularly measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.  Rewards participants based on result of evaluation as specified by program documentation.

·          Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

·          4 year degree in Engineering or Manufacturing related technical field

·          10 years of related experience.

·          Experience with both German and US state and federal apprenticeship programs.

·          Personal completion of an apprentice program is a plus.
