One of TEKsystems largest clients is looking for an applications engineer. This is a six month rotating contract position. The Job Responsibilities include:

· Assist sales engineering with products regarding new implementations and architecture when signing a new customer with Windows 2003/2008, IIS 6/7, SQL Server 2005/2008, SharePoint 2007, TCP/IP and VMWare.

· Acceptance testing, confirming product functionality and assessment of overall supportability of a variety of applications including Exchange 2007, SharePoint 2007, IIS 7, Active Directory and various others for productization purposes.

· Extensive documentation of standard operating procedures, acceptable use policies and support matrices for the applications listed prior.

· Training implementation teams and technical operations about the products being released in addition to working with various departments for product release efforts

Actual job duties include:

This person will be responsible for going through internal applications to determine what hardware is needed to support the application. They will need to understand how to install and setup software in a variety of environments. Once they have picked the latest technologies to be used they will test and package the application.

Follow on work would include documenting the procedures/features and training implementation teams.

This position will be switching gears every 2-4 weeks


Attractions to this position: This person will get to play all the features of new applications such as SharePoint 2008, Win 2008, IIS v. 7, and Exchange 2007. They will also learn the various features associated to those applications.

They will be key in helping our client create an auto build/deployment application by providing this information.
