The Office of Information Technologies seeks to fill the position of Applications Analyst. The Applications Analyst works within the SIS Project Team to implement and support the PeopleSoft Student Information System Software. The SIS system will be an integrated, campus-wide system using state-of-the-art technology to support the Admissions, Bursar, Registration and Records, Financial Aid, and Housing function. Graduate, undergraduate, continuing education, and prospective students, as well as faculty and staff, will use the SIS both directly and indirectly. Responsibilities will include process analysis, configuration, programming, training, testing, support and documentation. Serve as project leader for elements of the SIS project.
Qualifications: BS in Computer Science or related technical field, OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Minimum of 5 years experience developing, enhancing and supporting administrative information systems. Programming experience in either a client/server development environment (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle Development Tools, Powerbuilder) or a major programming language (e.g., COBOL, Visual Basic, C++). Business analysis experience working with both technical and non-technical staff. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate the work of others in a leadership role. Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies independently in a short time frame. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. Experience programming in the PeopleSoft development environment. Experience with student-related services (admissions, financial aid, student accounts receivable, registration and records, and/or housing services), e.g. human resource services (payroll, benefits administration, etc.), and/or financial services (general ledger, accounts payable, billing, asset management, etc.). Development or support experience with applications employing graphical user interfaces and event-driven programming. Experience with relational database technology. Experience in training, software support and/or consulting. Experience developing interactive web applications. Expertise in the use of end-user reporting tools.
Hiring Salary Range: $46,700 - $58,300; Normal Starting Salary Range: $46,700 - $52,500. For the exceptionally well qualified candidate, the salary may be extended up to $64,100.
